Teaching Africa, teach English in Ghana
 GEOGRAPHIE, SPORT and RELIGION. Teaching in Africa different subjects. Depending on the subject combination a mentor who will look after you will be advised to you. Teaching in Ghana is only in English. But don’t be scared you mustn’t have studied English to be able to teach in Ghana. The support of the mentors and the cooperation with the other block internship participants help to make this work! Preparation and the following of the lessons are done mostly in teamwork.
The first school week in Ghana is mostly there to get settled. The observation of the classes is a very important part of the practical training. Didactic specialties and specialties in the method of the African school system, but also similarities to the German school system are noticeable. One of the main aims of this practical training is the exchange of the different teaching methods so that intercultural knowledge sharing can take place an be promoted. At the end of the four week practical training you should have taught about 20 hours on your own. |
Daily Schedule at school  On the weekdays from Monday to Friday you are at the school absolving your practical training. After the breakfast at the Rainbow Garden Village you will be taken to your practical training by a driver and also brought back after that. The lessons usually begins at 8 o’clock with a march of all students out on the school field. On some days afternoon lessons are possible. You will discuss your exact time table with one of the teachers when you get there.
 After the lessons your spare time begins. You have the option to return directly to the Rainbow Garden Village or go to Kumasi or other close by attractions. The weekends are used for bigger excursions and expeditions to the national parks. Included in the practical training is a two day camping adventure trip round the Lake Bosumtwi. |
Fee and services for a 4-week internship in Ghana
A: four-week practical training:

• Taken care of by the guesthouse staff
• Recreational facilities: Kumasi city guide,national parks
